YOUR SAFE RETURN
“I have taken the opportunity to carefully re-think the BFunctional processes and to introduce a number of important and innovative methods, so that we are ready to re-open our classes and coaching in a progressive manner. I am confident that it is safe to do so for our clients and other members of the Celtic Manor.
In the meantime, I would strongly encourage you to familiarise yourself with the health and safety measures we’ve put in place to keep you safe”.
By entering BFunctional Academy every member is agreeing to make a COVID-19 Health Declaration to confirm that:
- You do not have any COVID-19 symptoms
- You have not received a positive test in the last seven days
- You are not waiting on a Coronavirus test result
- That no member of your household has COVID-19 symptoms or is waiting on a test result
- To the best of your knowledge you have not been in close contact with anyone who is exhibiting Coronavirus symptoms or has tested positive.
- I will not attend a Face to Face session if I do develop these symptoms.
- I consent to Contact Tracing and temperature checks.
All members are also expected to maintain social distancing and to keep themselves, fellow members and Coaches safe by adhering to the safety advice and guidance given.
On every visit to BFunctional Academy you will effectively be making the above Health Declaration.
It is essential that ALL clients complete the Health Declaration form found HERE.
You will only be permitted to access any classes now or in the future on completing this form.
KEEPING YOUR DISTANCE
To ensure you remain safe whilst getting your class and coaching routine covered, we’ve implemented a number of procedures to maintain careful social distancing.
We will be following advice from Public Health Wales and will review our social distancing procedures regularly – keeping safety as our No.1 priority.
Please do help to keep yourself, our coaches and your fellow members safe, by using a sensible approach to personal space.
We have redesigned the gym floor, spacing out equipment and workout area to provide you with effective and safe workout areas. Where possible we are also introducing one-way routes.
Classes will be adjusted as necessary to ensure safer participation.
BODY-WEIGHT CLASSES (Body Flow and ZUU) will take place on an open grass area where 2m distance will be maintained. When permitted to move indoors we shall adjust class numbers and retain distancing.
TRX CLASSES will take place on an outdoor rig where numbers are reduced to maintain distance and equipment will be sanitised as and when necessary, no rotation of equipment is permitted.
Please book and pay for your classes online, via GymSync. The timetable will be published on GymSync and is subject to change. Your normal advance booking rights will then apply for future bookings, i.e. book up to 1 hour before and cancel up to 2 hours before, no refunds beyond that.
As all TRX Class numbers will be restricted a place will be precious, as such please respect other users and commit to your booking. PHYSICAL SPACE IS RESTRICTED THEREFORE CLASS SPACE IS PREMIUM.
CLEANLINESS & HYGIENE
To deter the spread of the virus, we’ve upped our cleaning routines and adopted advanced hygiene standards.
Top-grade cleaning, more often.
The Celtic Academy and BFunctional will use cleaning products that are proven to kill viruses like COVID-19 in all areas, with particular attention being paid to all high-touch surfaces after every class.
We have invested in state-of-the-art, new cleaning equipment that provides an even distribution of cleaning products and total disinfectant of every surface it coats.
The Academy will be cleaned multiple times, on a daily basis.
Handy products when you need them.
We are providing complimentary alcohol gel and antibacterial spray and wipes for members to use.
Please help us stay safe by using contactless payments when possible.
LOOKING OUT FOR EACH OTHER
Prior to gaining entry, we will give all members a quick temperature check before allowing access to the Academy.
We ask all members to…
- Always respect social distancing rules when in the Academy- especially when in close, shared spaces like group classes.
- Wash your hands frequently
- Wipe down any equipment before and after use
- Not to use sweat towels
- Not to remove cleaning materials / hand sanitiser from the Academy
- Make contactless or credit card payments rather than using cash, where possible
- Be patient and observe all health and safety guidance and advice, and if you have any feedback please do contact Bethan Fowler.
All Coaches will receive COVID-19 training, to reassure them about the new initiatives and processes we have introduced.
Before starting work each day all Coaches will complete a health screening, including temperature check, to ensure they are fit for work.
Coaches will wash their hands at the start of their work and will be encouraged to frequently do so during their shift too.
If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, please do not come to the Academy and be sure to follow the latest up-to-date Government advice.
If you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to the Academy for 14 days or until you’ve tested negative for COVID-19.
If you feel unwell or have any concerns about coming into Academy, please stay home and stay safe. We’re encouraging members and Coaches to limit their person-to-person contact, including hugs & high fives.

“An inclusive community being the BF DNA—but right now, this is the best way to take care of everyone. It might be a bit overwhelming at first. But trust me: as soon as that class starts, you’ll find yourself in that familiar place you know and love. Those classes and coaching you’ve been needing now more than ever is even safer now—and I can’t wait to see you here.”
